What started off as a book buying service on the Internet is now one of the biggest retailers around. The owner Jeff Bezos has now parlayed his success into purchasing the Washington Post newspapers. But in this busy holiday shopping season, Amazon has plenty of deals and new ways to bring your items to you.

Their website, their Facebook page and their email blasts all share deals daily if you are a member or a subscriber. Here are simple ways to get the “heads-up” on deals”.

1. “Become a regular on the Gold Box - check out the Deal of the Day and today's Lightning Deals.” Pretty self-explanatory; Everyday there is a new deal of the day that is optimized for your shopping habits and likes.

2. “Sign up for daily deals emails so you won't miss tomorrow's deal or our best holiday deals.” If you prefer the email route, everyday Amazon will send a simple mailer with plenty of deals based on your searches, shopping habits and likes.

3. “Like us on Facebook to receive updates about daily deals, Top Holiday Deals, and exclusive Amazon content.” With a Facebook account and a subscription to their page, your news feed will receive daily updates and special subscriber deals for Amazon.

4. “Follow @amazondeals on Twitter. We'll tweet about Top Holiday Deals, all our Deals of the Day, and Lightning Deals.” For more real-time deals that you can take advantage online, follow the Amazon Twitter account. There you can follow special tweets and updates for real-time deals.

5. “Install the Amazon mobile app and shop our deals from anywhere, no matter where you are during our Top Holiday Deals event.” For mobile users, the Amazon developers created a special app for shopping from your device. But there’s more as you can receive updates from the apps of the latest deals, coupons and discounts.

6. “Install Amazon 1Button App and put special Amazon features right at your fingertips.” From Chrome and Firefox browser users, the one-button from Amazon when selected displays the latest deals. It can also seamlessly transport the user to the item with discount intact.

You can subscribe to one, few or all of these -- whatever you do you will get the deals and discounts. If you are a Amazon member or even better a “Prime” member the deals and the shipping is discounted as well. Amazon has gone out of its way to help the consumer get the best deals on their device, emails and social media networks right away.
